Sony DVD-Rs are also thick enough to hold on without hitting the deck. Funny part is that it used to work when I first got it, burnt about 50 DVDs with no problems and now it does not work at all.
It appeared to burn at just over 8x speed Popcorn was set for best speed. The issue is definatly hardware related and not something as simple as software. The latest notebooks will undoubtedly contain a DVD burner, but the great majority will be lacking this feature.
Those same discs show up as 2x in my mini, though.

In the old matshtia days, there was only room for eight characters. The other recent change that happened is there are now three drive letters D,E and H that all refer to the drive where it use to just be the D drive. What is compatible with this drive?

It suddenly will mstshita recognize blank DVD media it has used for years and it also has a good deal of trouble playing CDs, both home made and store bought. Does anyone have any solution for this? The parts are difficult to obtain, are generally more expensive, and people are nervous about opening up an expensive piece of equipment.
